Our Society was founded in Rochester, NY, in 1994. Our members include Scots and non-Scots alike who have embraced this colorful and diverse heritage. Our desire is to unite and inform those in the Rochester, NY area of upcoming events of interest.

Our purposes are:

  • To perpetuate Scottish traditions and culture.
  • To promote the establishment and growth of clan societies and Scottish organizations.
  • To encourage and support Scottish activities.

Membership is open to anyone who desires to be a part of The Scottish Heritage Society Inc., and is willing to help promote the Society and its functions. The Scottish Heritage Society Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Dues and donations to the Society may be tax deductible; check with your tax advisor.

We are an Educational and Charitable Organization. In addition to the work we do to perpetuate Scottish culture and encourage Scottish activities, we support Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS). CHAS is a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.
